WHO WE ARE ?

Aditya Corporation is a family organisation and one of the most respected and preferred aggregators, processors, packers and suppliers of quality Indian Raisins (Dried Grapes, Kishmish, and Sultana) based out of the town of Sangli (Important trading centre for the crops of Krishna Valley Region) in the state of Maharashtra, India.

We owe our presence, values and success to the humble beginning of our founder Karsandas Dhanji Thakkar who started the broking business of agri commodities in 1942 and we have stood the test of time thriving to keep the legacy intact through our various group companies. We like to be called ourselves as Samarth Group.

During the course of our existence we have gained experience in:

The management of the group is held by three generations of Karsandas Dhanji Thakker Family, supported by trusted manpower with a blend of experience and youth.

WHAT WE DO ?

The Samarth group comprises of closed knit companies (Karsandas Dhanji & Co, Aditya Corporation, Jamnadas Dhanji & Others, Samarth Mercantile Pvt. Ltd. et al) in various businesses as General Merchants, Commission Agents, Brokers & Distributors for products like Raisins, Turmeric, Other Local Spices, Imported Spices and other agro commodities.

Our office at Sangli is backed by a sales office at Mumbai (The Largest APMC market in Asia) and collection centres for Raisins at Sangli, Tasgaon and Pandharpur from farmers. Our buying persons also regularly collect Raisins from Nashik and other interior locations. We are one of the largest sellers of Raisins of the farmers in the auction markets of Sangli, Tasgaon and Pandharpur and are in to the business of Raisins since 1987.

Raisins business as a growth driver was identified and the management of the group paved the way in expansion of the business through investments in best in the business Raisins Processing Machines, State of the art Cold Storage with ASRS robotic system supported by Temperature Controlled transport vehicles. These infrastructure collectively has been set up as an independent profit center cold chain facility by the support for the Ministry of Food Processing, Central Government of India.

We are one of the largest brokers of Turmeric for export trade and have been known across the various producing centers since 1950’s.

The first traders and collectors of Raisins in the process guiding many farmers to shift from table grapes to raisins, thus augmenting the overall market size.
Large no of Empanelled farmers (more than 1500) for procuring of raisins, boasting of the largest supply base in the country.
We are net sellers of Raisins by a large margin in the auction markets thus ensuring of the right price and timely supplies.
Our small manual cleaning center was the first HACCP accredited processing center for Raisins in India.
The Partners of Aditya Corporation are the founding members, stakeholders and have representation on the board of the one and only Raisins development cluster in India named as Sangli Grape Processing Marketing & Research industry Ltd.
The Partners were involved in the initial feasibility study in selection of plant & machinery and had toured Turkey and USA for the same.
We are the first and the lone company to do a trials and commercial production in the plant of the Sangli Grape Processing Marketing & Research industry Ltd. for Raisins for long period of time and set the ball rolling for mechanised processing of Raisins in India.

As a Group:

The family has been in the committee of initial design of Turmeric contracts for the national level commodity derivatives exchange.
We had the distinction of being the sole house brokers (Turmeric, Other Spices, sugar etc) for some of the biggest trading companies of India.

How have we evolved

Our Genesis – Historical Timeline

1940’s

– Karsandas Dhanji arrived at Mumbai then (Bombay) at the age of 15 and started his job in the grain wholesale market – April 1940.

– Karsandas Dhanji started his business of brokering primarily for black pepper in the name of Karsandas Dhanji & Co. – April 1942.
1950’s
– Membership of Spices and Oilseed Exchange Ltd (Sangli) taken to render brokering services of derivatives of Turmeric for customers, later diversified to other commodities – August 1955.

– A branch office in Sangli was opened for procuring for export customers of Peanuts, Sugar, Turmeric Jaggery etc. – August 1955.
1987

– To diversify our business, Raisins procurement was started (which was made in insignificant quantities in some pockets around Sangli), for our pan India customers. – Feb 1987
1989
– Shares and stocks and investment advisory business started under the name Samarth – May 1989.
2004

– Membership of National Level Commodity Derivatives Exchanges for brokering and deliveries business. – August 2004.
2009
– Aditya Corporation along with its group, acted as the founder member and dominant shareholders of the Central Government recognised Raisins processing cluster, the first of its kind in India for Raisins. – Feb 2009

– Aditya corporation was among the First suppliers to the Export trade from India for Raisins, – June 2009
2013

– Direct Exports to Various Countries across the world was started through the group company Thakker Mercantile Pvt. Ltd.
2014
– State of the art robotic cold storage (1st In India) erection was commissioned for self use and as an independent third party service .

– Fully integrated machinery with minimal human intervention and hi tech equipments like Laser sorter and mechanised heaters was implemented for processing of Raisins
